To You O God,
We sing our song of praise and thanksgiving
For the wonderful deeds you have worked
among us in the
100 Years of Missionary Benedictine
Presence in our beloved Philippines.
We remember with gratitude the first five
German Benedictine Sisters who
stepped on the Philippine soil on the
Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.
We thank you for the past; and today, we
beg you:
Bless our lay mission partners, our
alumnae,
our students and their parents, our
benefactors
and friends who generously share in their
material resources
and their gifts of mind and heart, bringing
peace and joy to all.
Inflame us with Your gift of compassion
so that all people especially the lonely,
the poor and the unloved may continue
to find a sanctuary of love in our hearts.
In gratitude to You for all that has been,
may we embrace the challenges of the Cross.
May we gather the concerns and aspirations
of
future generations and pass on to them the
Benedictine legacy:
A radical return to the Gospel values of
love of God, neighbour,
reverence for all
creation, total
self-donation, forgiveness and
reconciliation, poverty for
the kingdom and
passion for justice and
peace.
Through the intercession of St. Benedict
and
St. Scholastica, may our lives of prayer
and work
become a song of praise to the glory of
Your name.
This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen. |
