Ministries
The Congregation does not have a
specified area of apostolate in which and for which all the members work and serve the
people of God. Rather, the charism is for the spreading of the Good News through service
of the Church according to the needs of the People of God at that time and in that place.
Education in schools was the first ministry
engaged in. That was after all the principal reason for calling the Sisters to the
Philippines in the early years of the 20th century. In 1907, a year after the
opening of the first school, Sister Baptista Battig, OSB, a former concert pianist,
introduced formal music education in the country.
