The Generalate

Casa Santo Spirito at via dei Bevilacqua, Rome, is the home of the Generalate, the central governing body of the Congregation. The present Prioress General is Mother M. Irene Dabalus, OSB, a Filipina. Assisting her are four councilors general – a German, a Korean, an American, and a Brazilian.

Every six years a General Chapter convenes for the election of the prioress general and the general councilors as well as for legislation for the entire congregation. Prioresses and regional superiors are ex officio members of the General Chapter; other delegates are elected by the sisters of the respective priories and districts.
