School of Music | Master of Music in Violin with Emphasis on the Suzuki
   Approach

General Description

The Master of Music in Violin Pedagogy with Emphasis on the Suzuki Approach is a two-year course of study designed to provide students with a broader perspective/knowledge of the various skills and techniques in violin pedagogy.  While sustaining a tradition of excellence in music performance, SSC's School of Music in the past twenty-five (25) years, has developed another emphasis in the field of violin pedagogy.  This expansion in thrust is paralleled by a remarkable growth in its library holding.  The School of Music's existing network of music preparatory programs, performance groups, current technological equipment, among others, all stand ready to serve the laboratory phases of the curricula in the graduate level.  The program's emphasis is on the Suzuki approach which is found to be an effective approach for teaching violin to young children.  SSC School of Music is in partnership with the Philippine Suzuki Association (PSA), recognized by both the Asia Suzuki Association (ASA), and the International Suzuki Association (ISA).  Graduates of this program earn a Master's Degree in Violin Pedagogy and automatically receive the Primary, Intermediate and Advanced Certification for Suzuki Violin Teachers as well as become members of and recognized Suzuki Instructors by the PSA, ASA and ISA.
