As part of the High School's program for developing wholistic students, enrichment activities such as field trips, exposure trips and retreats are undertaken. During these events, the following guidelines are in effect:

Retreats

1.  The class is given a general orientation by the Christian Living Education (CLE) Teacher.

2.   The class goes to the retreat together in a school bus. No one goes in her car unless the CLE decides to allow the student.  For such rare cases, the CLE teacher handles the case with discretion, e.g. the parents bring the daughter in their car because of her fragile health, etc.

a.   As much as possible, no one is allowed to be late.  However, when a student fails to come with the bus on time and wishes to follow the bus, she is allowed to be three hours late at most. After three hours, she may not be allowed to join the retreat.

b.   The CLE teacher accepts the late student, not the adviser, nor the Campus Ministry Coordinator.

3.   Retreatants are allowed to bring only ONE BAG for their BASIC things: pants, t-shirts or a dress, underwear, towel, soap, shampoo, special medicine, etc.

a.   They are discouraged from bringing the following:
a.1  stuffed toys
a.2  electronic gadgets (walkman, etc.), magazines
a.3  pillows

Food items brought are to be surrendered and put in a "common" area.  Upon
inspection, disallowed items will be confiscated.

b.   Cameras are to be surrendered to the adviser and may be claimed only after the retreat.

4.   During the retreat days, no retreatant leaves ahead of the rest.  Everybody goes back to school in the same bus.

a.   A student may be fetched after the retreat only by the parents who inform the CLE teacher in writing at least two days before the retreat for verification/clarification purposes.

b.   If a parent informs in writing that their daughter is to be dropped somewhere along the way, he/she has to be there to pick up the daughter when the bus passes. If no parent is around in the agreed location, the daughter has to go back to school with the class.

5.   Should cancellation/suspension of classes happen (because of typhoons, etc.) on first day of the retreat, the retreat is automatically cancelled.  When the cancellation of classes occurs during the retreat, the retreat continues as scheduled.

Field/Exposure Trips, etc.

1.   Students are expected to observe all rules and regulations stipulated in the Student's Handbook.

2.   Other guidelines or directives issued by teacher(s)-incharge must also be strictly observed.

3.   Students are not allowed to proceed to the venue(s) or destinations if they do not make it to SSC on the designated time of departure.  Students who are left by the group or for some reason are unable to join the activity, must report to the high school office or to the designated authority; they will be given academic work.  However, this academic work may only merit half of the grade allotment assigned for the subject area concerned.

4.   Student are expected to stay with their classes/assigned groups throughout the activity. They are expected to seek the permission of the teacher-in-charge if they wish to leave the group (e.g. going to the rest room etc.)

5.   Students may bring only the materials assigned or required. All other items are subject to confiscation.

6.   Students are to be brought back to school after a field/exposure trip.  If a student wishes to be dropped off at any point along the way back to SSC or to be fetched by her parents at the venue of the activity, she will have to submit a letter of request written and signed by her parent/guardian. This must be done at least a day PRIOR to the activity.
