SSC HIGH SCHOOL - FACILITIES I Use of Facilities I
1. Students shall use the school facilities with care. Any willful damage to school property, or accidental breakage or loss in the Culinary Arts Center, Science and Computer laboratories, the Audio-Visual Room (AVR), the library and other items in other areas shall be charged to the student. If damage is done willfully, the student shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action. 2. Good order requires that the classrooms and special rooms be kept clean. The blackboards and chalk are for instructional purposes only. Feet should be kept off the furniture and walls. Equipment should be handled with reasonable care and properly stored/returned after use. 3. Vandalism is strictly forbidden. 4. Malfunction of any school equipment or facility must be immediately reported to the High School Office. The Instructional Media CenterThe Library a. Students are expected to maintain SILENCE at all times to create an atmosphere conducive to learning and intellectual growth. b. The Library is open from 7:30am to 5:30pm without lunch break during regular school days and from 8:00am to 12:00nn on Saturdays. c. Upon entry, the Library card should be shown to the Library clerk. NO LIBRARY ID, NO ENTRY! d. The Borrower's card, complete with picture and signature, is needed for borrowing books on a long-term basis. The Library ID is needed for borrowing RESERVED books, FOR ROOM USE ONLY books and periodicals. e. In cases of a lost Borrower's Card: e.1 Report the loss immediately to the Librarian. e.2 A new Borrower's card will be issued after one week upon payment of replacement fee. e.3 Students will only be allowed to ask for a replacement of lost Borrower's Card three times. f. Lending of the Library Card or Borrower's Card to another is strictly prohibited. This would mean SUSPENSION OF LIBRARY PRIVILEGES after the ID/Borrower's Card is confiscated. This will then be surrendered to the CSA's office. g. In the case of lost books, the library will make decisions on a case-to-case basis. h. Loud conversation, vigorous physical activity, eating, playing and sleeping are NOT allowed inside the library. Those caught committing these offenses will be sent out of the library and will be reported to the CSA. Audio-Visual Rooms (AVR)1. The AVR is a venue for theater presentations, symposia and the like. Reservation for its use should be made at least one week before the activity. 2. The AVR is open from 7:30am to 5:30pm. 3. Prior to entering, bags should be neatly arranged in the shelves outside. Chairs etc. should be put back in proper order/arrangement after use. 4. Students who wish to use the AVR facilities and materials for curriculum needs must first have their requisition form noted by their subject teacher. Prayer Room and ChapelThe Prayer Room and the Chapel are places for prayer and reflection. One should at all times maintain SILENCE to enhance their meditative atmospheres. Troika HallThe Troika Hall primarily serves as the venue for class, inter-year level and inter-scholastic debates. Order and proper decorum are to be maintained at all times. If the room is to be used for other purposes, permission/reservation is required from the CSA. St. Cecilia's Hall and St. Ehrentrudis Hall1. St. Cecilia's Hall and the Little Theater are for performances and assemblies where students are expected to give due respect and attention to the speakers and/or performers. Proper decorum and order should be observed at all times. 2. Reservations for the use of St. Cecilia's Hall should be made at the Music Department at least one week before the activity. 3. Reservation for the use of the St. Ehrentrudis Hall should be made at least one week before the activity. Subiaco1. Subiaco is a place for retreats and recollections. Everyone, therefore, should observe proper behavior and decorum. 2. Reservation for its use should be made at the Information Office at least three (3) days before the activity. 3. The Subiaco pool is for swimming classes. Eating is STRICTLY prohibited. Students should observe proper behavior so that accidents will be avoided. Conference Room1. The conference room is a place for holding 'small group meetings. Reservations are on a "first-come, first-served" basis. 2. Reservations for its use 'are made through the secretary of the Principal. Classrooms1. The classroom is a place where learning activities take place. It may also be used for official practices and meetings during nonclass hours. 2. Reservation for its use is made through the secretary of the CSA at least one day before the activity. 3. Eating is STRICTLY prohibited. 4. After use of the room, students must put all furniture back in order, and should leave the room free of litter. Special Rooms(e.g. computer room, music room, culinary arts room, sewing room, performing arts room, speech room, etc.) 1. These special rooms are used only for those purposes, as their names suggest. 2. The use of any special room will need reservation from the Office of the CSA and should be filed two (2) or more days before its use. CanteenThe Canteen is a place for eating. Everyone is enjoined to maintain cleanliness and observe proper disposal of waste. Staircase landings and corridors of new building are off-limits to students during break periods. |
