The Social and Cultural Context of Waldorf Education and Introductory Course on Steiner Education

St. Scholastica's College, Manila and Institute for Practice-Based Research (ipf), Switzerland present The Social and Cultural Context of Waldorf Education: The Foundations of Anthroposophy (including Rudolf Steiner's basic books) on March 26-30, 2007 and Introductory Course on Steiner Education on April 10-27, 2007 at the SSC Sr. Caridad Barrion Hall.

COURSE I (No unit credits)
THE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT OF WALDORF EDUCATION
The Foundations of Anthroposophy
March 26-30, 2007 / 8:00am-5:00pm  (with lunch break)

 

Lecturer: MR. NICANOR PERLAS, founder of Center for Alternative Development Initiatives (CADI), author of books and over 100 articles, awardee, Alternative Nobel Peace Prize 2004, UN Environmental Program Global 500 Award for Sustainable Agriculture, and The Outstanding Filipino Award (TOFIL). 
Cost: new enrollees - Php3,500; reaudit enrollees - Php1,000.

COURSE II (With 8 Unit Credits)
INTRODUCTORY COURSE ON STEINER EDUCATION
September 2007  (exact date will be announced later)

Lecturer: MR. MARTYN RAWSON, co-founder and teacher of York Steiner School, Member of the College of the Pedagogical Section of the Free University at the Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland, visiting lecturer in Plymouth University and others in the UK and Stuttgart, Germany, international lecturer, well published, Research fellow at the Educational Research Center of the Association of German Waldof School, Coordinator of the research group of the Pedagogical Section International Curriculum Research Group and editor of the Journal Steiner Education (since 2002).

 Pre-requisite : Course by Mr. Nicanor Perlas

Course Content :
Unit 1 : The Nature of Human Development as a Basis for an Educational Approach
Unit 2 : Development and Learning
Unit 3 : The Emergent Nature of Human Faculties and Competencies
Unit 4 : Supporting Healthy Development
Unit 5 : Foundations of Waldorf Education in Pre-School
Unit 6 : Principles and Practice in Primary Education in Steiner/Waldorf
Unit 7 : Educating Adolescents
Unit 8 : The Teacher as Researcher and Learner

Cost : Package - 3 weeks with credits Php23,500
                         (Breakdown: Registration Fee - Php400.00; Tuition - Php2,800 @ unit x 8 =
                          Php22,400; Add-one time: Graduate School Entrance Test - Php500.00;
                          ID - Php200.00)

           Package - 3 weeks without credits - Php20,000
                          1 week without credits - Php8,000

      initiatives that have sprung from it (e.g., Waldorf education, biodynamic agriculture,
