Every rigodon celebration is unique in its own special way.  This year’s rigodon can boast of having the most unique grand event, an event that happens only once in a hundred years.

The rigodon, as a culminating activity of the Grade Six students, turned out to be a memorable experience for mothers, fathers and daughters of SSC as they dined and danced the night away.   All the hard work and tedious preparation, not to mention the precious time spent away from home, endless meetings and dance practices, physical and mental stress finally paid off as the day’s event unfolded amidst ahhhs, ohhhs, applauses, congratulatory greetings and awed silence.

It was also a day where the true Filipino spirit of bayanihan was felt in every heart and soul of the working committees, tireless participants, witnessing guests and parents, proud teachers, administrators, GSPA officers, school staff, and even those curious onlookers who felt that the event was simply worth watching.

With more than eight hundred fifty (850) guests and participants in attendance, the whole field was transformed into a kaleidoscope of rainbow colors.  The rigodon participants, vibrant in their traditional Filipiniana costumes, added excitement to the superb singing, lively dance numbers, and live al fresco music that was soothing to the spirit.

Each class presented their own rendition of the rigodon to make each performance unique and more exciting.  Every detail of the program was well planned and executed.  A video presentation was shown while a certain number in the program was in progress.

The Rigodon de Royal and the Rigodon de Honor capped the evening with resounding success against a backdrop of a bygone era.  The Centennial Rigodon is truly an event to resound for ages in the school’s rigodon history.
