SSC Pep Squad - Still Number 1!

SSC Pep Squad winning moves

On February 10, 2007, pep squads from the Women's National Collegiate Athletic Association's (WNCAA) member schools battled for the championship in the league's much-awaited Seniors' Division Cheerleading Competition held at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.  The WNCAA applian an eliminations-finals format that made this year's quest for the cheerleading crown one of the league's most thrilling presentations to date.

In the elimination round, fourteen (14) squads showed off their 3-minute routines, as they competed for seven finalists' slots.  Once the seven finalists were announced, they drew lots for performance order, then launched straight into a nail-biting, no-holds-barred contest of choreography, execution, charm, and energy.

And for the sixth year in a row, St. Scholastica's College Pep Squad emerged victorious and was crowned Champion of the Seniors' Division Cheerleading Competition of the WNCAA's 37th Season.  Miriam College seized the First Runner-Up title, and Emilio Aguinaldo College came in as Second Runner Up.

Other competing pep squads were St. Francis of Assisi College (SFAC), College of St. Benilde (CSB), Centro Escolar University (CEU), Rizal Technological University (RTU), as well as Lyceum of the Philippines University, World Citi Colleges, University of Asia and the Pacific, AMA Computer University, La Consolacion College-Manila, Siena College and Philippine Women's University.

The event also marked the close of the WNCAA's 37th Seasons with its theme "Victory Beyond Competition."  League officials together with administrators of season host St. Stephen's High School, made the ceremonial turnover to next season's host Lyceum of the Philippines University.
