NEWS ARCHIVES: SY 2004-2005 | SY 2005-2006 | SY 2006-2007 Grade School and High School units hold Articulation Meeting
Ma. Louisa D. Joaquin
On February 13, 2007, the Grade School and High School Coordinators attended the articulation meeting for academics. Present were the GS/HS Units’ academic coordinators, with Mrs. Virginia R. Fornias - HS Assistant Principal and Math Coordinator, Sr. Michaela M. Manalang, OSB, HS Principal and Ms. Adelaida P. Villegas - GS Principal, as facilitators. Ms. Villegas who gave the overview and rationale of the articulation meeting said that the underlying principle of the activity is to lay a solid basic education program for the students from Prep to High School. Thus, ensuring continuous and effective development of knowledge, skills, attitudes of students and teaching approaches. This practice also assures a smooth transition not only in academics and instruction but also in other areas of the student’s school life such as student activities, student formation, and faculty development. After reviewing the minutes of the past articulation meeting held in October 2004, the coordinators with their counterparts met to discuss the specific needs of their respective areas. Topics discussed were: curriculum content, policies, skills and values inherent in the area of school life, students’ performance and other concerns. They also came up with plans for possible inter-action/enrichment for the next school year for both students and teachers alongside faculty development and linkages. After a meeting of minds, plans were reported to the body and documented for implementation on SY 2007-2008.
