The SSC Ballet Program will again be submitting students for the annual Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (ACB) examinations on April 11, 2007. There are twenty (20) students from the Grade School Unit who will be taking the examinations at St. Paul College, Pasig.  Taking the Pre-Primary Level are: Rio Canal, Carmela Segui, Carissa Ulangkaya, Maxine Estrella, Paz Co and Mikaela Igrubay.  For Primary level, Margarita Ma. Guerrero, Reinaline Ramos, Chelsea Cocjin and Maki Yamamoto.  Preparatory Level 1 will be represented by Katherine Albert and Patricia Perez and Level 1 exams will be taken by Karina Albert, Ella Alas, Alexandra Gozum, Olivia Perez, Princess Gaiser, Krizia Valero, Francesca Quimno and Sheila Magno.

The SSC Ballet Program adheres to the strict standards of the study of classical ballet and students are evaluated and assessed yearly using the ACB syllabus taught by Mrs. Abigail Yee-Alvia, SSC Ballet Program Director and registered teacher of the ACB.  The ACB uses the method of the Russian Vaganova System which is widely used by major ballet companies and the entire Soviet Choreographic Schools.  In the past 13 years, the SSC club members have successfully passed examinations and many of its students have received honor ratings in the examinations.

Ms. Christine Walsh, A.M. director and founder of ACB, together with ACB registered examiner, Ms. Kerrie McArthur will be coming to the Philippines to conduct the examinations on April 11. The SSC Ballet Program is very optimistic that Batch 2007 candidates will once again bring honor and pride to the ballet community as well as to SSC.
