To celebrate the centenary of the
Missionary Benedictine Sisters' Presence
in the Philippines, St. Scholastica's College, Manila and the Manila
Priory will hold a CENTENNIAL CONCERT on September 16, 2006,
Saturday, 5:00pm at SSC's St. Cecilia's Hall.
The concert features Sinfonia on Philippine Airs
(arranged by A. Consolacion) by 10 Benedictine Pianists; Partita No. 5
(J.S. Bach) arranged for 100 string players, ages 5 and up including
SSC's alumnae and alumni; Carnival of the Animals (Saint-Saens) by
Dom Benildus Ma. Maramba, OSB on Piano I, J. Greg Zuniega, Piano II, Dom
Bernardo Ma. Perez, OSB, Narrator, The Manila Symphony Orchestra and
Arturo T. Molina, conducting; Quartet in C# (R. Strauss) to be
performed by Virginia Laico Villanueva, Piano, Gina Media, Violin,
Jeffrey Solares, Viola and Antoni Josef Inacay, Cello; Teco io Sto
Gran dio (G. Verdi) from the Opera "Un Ballo in Maschera" by Camille
Lopez-Molina, Soprano, Pablo Molina, Tenor, The Manila Symphony Orchestra
and Arturo T. Molina, conducting; and Te Deum (J. Rutter) and
Now Thank We All Our God (arranged by J. Rutter) by the
Benedictine Sisters, College Faculty Chorale, Alumnae, College Glee Club,
High School Glee Club, The Manila Symphony Orchestra and Arturo T.
