Shirtacular: Organization Shirt Festival
 

Every school year, the different student organizations of the College Unit express their uniqueness and creativity while incorporating the school theme through their organization shirts.   

This year’s Shirt Festival, dubbed as “Shirtacular”, opened last August 23, 2006 at the Social Hall.
Mrs. Rhodora Angela Ferrer, Dean of Student Affairs, delivered the welcome remarks, which was followed by the turn-over of Rockalikasan proceeds to Sr. Madonna Intal, OSB, Principal of the Night Secondary School.  

EconOrg won the Best Academic Organization Shirt and EnviSoc was awarded the Best Interest Organization Shirt.

 RocKalikasan: A Concert for a Cause

The Student Council (SC) and the Student Affairs Office (SAO) continue to delight the students with live performances, one of which was the RocKalikasan Concert held last August 4, 2006.  The Rockalikasan concert proceeds went to Student Council’s beneficiaries, the SSC-Night Secondary School and Bantay Kalikasan of ABS-CBN.  The theme of the concert was focused on the “jubilee” and “care for Mother Earth”, two of the center themes for this year’s celebration of the school centenary. 

Different Filipino bands such as Imago, Salamin, 6cyclemind, Itchyworms, Urbandub, Cala Lily, Join d Club and our very own music students’ band, the Pergola grooved and rocked at the SSC field. 

Organizations Groovin’ en Rockin’ 100%

As part of the Institutional Students’ Month of the College Unit, the Student Council (SC) together with the thirty (30) accredited Student Organizations had the annual Organization Recruitment Week entitled, “Orgs Groovin’ en Rockin’ 100%” last July 19-21, 2006 at the Free Zone. 

Each organization showcased in their booths different musical icons from the 60’s up to the present time, side by side with the development of St. Scholastica’s College through its 100 years of grace.  

The organizations welcomed the student body with a grand opening as the SSC Youth for Christ (YFC) led the students in prayer.  Mrs. Rhodora Angela Ferrer, Dean of Student Affairs, in her inspirational message challenged the leaders of each organization to make their organization activities relevant, with high-impact and of excellent quality.  Ms. BA Urbano, Student Organization Chairperson (SOC), presented the objectives of the event and last school year’s organization events through a video. Afterwards, St. Scho’s pride and joy, the Danzedge took the center stage as they performed an upbeat dance number for the crowd.  

To date, two-thirds of the studentry are now members of the different student organizations.
