A heartfelt thanks
Even now I am moved to tears when I am hit by the realization that all throughout Centennial Week it NEVER rained on any outdoor centennial event despite super typhoon Reming and the daily threat of monsoon rain. During our parade the sun was so bright I could feel God grinning back down at us. During the homecoming, the moon and stars were so radiant not even the fireworks could dim their luster. And during our finale at the track oval --- did you notice the brilliant blue of the sky and the way the clouds hovered only and always along the periphery, never overhead? I would have to be a selfish, bitter, jaded old fool not to acknowledge such overwhelming evidence of God’s glory and love. Awesome; Magnificent; Amazing; Incredible; WOW --- words people used in order to describe the centennial experience. Of course, there are other not-so-uplifting but just-as-apt words whose sting only they who toiled behind the scenes experienced, and so my heart, mind and soul go out to those who worked tirelessly and uncomplainingly to contribute to this unforgettable year-long celebration --- our teachers, our students, our parents, our office and maintenance personnel, our guards, the Sisters and Administrators, alumni and our many, many friends. I will probably spend all of next year trying to thank you and everyone else --- through smiles or hugs or kisses --- for this humbling opportunity to serve so wonderfully … but I am only human and cannot do all that in one go … and so in the meantime, please accept my humble THANK YOU; I owe everyone a hug and a kiss! (and I’d love some, too) I remain, your co-servant, ut in omnibus, glofificetur Deus!
Louie
