Giancarlo is a BM major in cello student and a second prize winner of the NAMCYA 2005 Cello Competition Category B.

This year, the AYO will begin with a three-week heavy Rehearsal Camp on July 21 to August 8 where they will be trained by professional musicians from all over the world, which include Mr. William Pu, associate concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Mr. Thanos Adamopoulos who will coach the violin section.  AYO will conduct a concert tour for three weeks from August 9 to September 1, 2007. The orchestra will be under the baton of Finnish conductor, Okko Kamu and AYO's Founder and Artistic Director, Richard Pontzious together with a Korean-Canadian cellist, Soo Bae, who recently won in the Canada Council of Arts Instrument Bank competition.  Soo Bae will use a 1696 Bonjour Stradivari cello. AYO's 2007 tour will include 18 performances in Hong Kong, China and Japan.
