present The Social and Cultural Context of Waldorf Education: The
Foundations of Spiritual Science (including Rudolf Steiner's basic books) on
October 3-7, 2007 and Introductory Course on Steiner Education on October 10-26, 2007 at the SSC Sr. Caridad
Barrion Hall.
COURSE I (1 unit credit)
THE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT OF STEINER EDUCATION
The Foundations of Spiritual Science
October 3-7, 2007 / 8:00am-5:00pm (with lunch break)
Lecturer: MR. NICANOR PERLAS, founder of
Center for Alternative Development Initiatives (CADI), author of
books and over 100 articles, awarded Alternative Nobel Peace Prize
2004, UN Environmental Program Global 500 Award for Sustainable
Agriculture, and The Outstanding Filipino Award (TOFIL).
Cost: new enrollees - Php3,700; re-audit enrollees - Php1,500.
COURSE II (With 8 Unit Credits)
INTRODUCTORY COURSE ON STEINER EDUCATION
October 10-26, 2007 / 8:00am-5:00pm (with lunch break) [including Saturdays]
Lecturer: MS. ASTRID SCHMIDT STEGMANN, studied
drama in Heidelberg, Germany and eurhythmy in Dornach, Switzerland.
She continued her studies in California where she received a BA and
MA in English and German Literature. After completing her
Waldorf teacher training, she taught for 25 years in kindergarten,
grade school, high school and foreign language. In 1992, she
became Director of the Waldorf Teacher Education Programs at Rudolf
Steiner College in San Francisco and Los Altos, California, a
position she still holds today. In addition to traveling to
schools throughout the U.S. and Europe giving lectures and workshops to mentor teachers, she is
also active in worldwide anthroposophical initiatives.
Formally on the faculty of the Waldorf Teacher Training Seminar in
Mannheim, Germany, she has also trained teachers in St. Petersburg,
Russia.
