The task of the

of St. Scholastica’s College from 1907 to 2007. The awarding ceremonies
shall be held at St. Cecilia’s Hall on October 7, 2007, during the
Contemporary Tertulla concert of the music alumnae. The date commemorates
the arrival of S. Baptista Battig in the Philippines.
Award categories
There shall be
two categories of awards: The St. Scholastica’s Music Alumnae Association
Outstanding Centennial Award and the Sister Baptista Battig Centennial
Award. A graduate of any degree in music offered by St. Scholastica’s
College, Manila or an alumna (who has been a premiere recitalist), male or
female, qualifies. In addition, awardees have to meet a set of criteria
drawn up by the Awards Committee and approved by the Board of the SSMAA.
The Sister
Baptista Battig Centennial Award is a recognition of alumnae in three fields
of music: performance, music education, and music composition. Each category
has its own set of criteria. A special category is reserved for alumnae or
non-alumnae who have made a contribution to the School of Music at St.
Scholastica’s College. Posthumous awards may be given.
