RULES OF THE GAME: BASKETBALL

4 BASKETBALL RULES

1.  The Official Basketball Rules of the International Amateur Basketball Federation (FIBA) 2006 will be used in the competition.

2.   Aside from the FIBA Rules, the tournament will also adopt the following House/Ground Rules.

     On Dress Code:

     2.1   Officials on the bench must wear t-shirt with collar, long pants and shoes.  This is also true to players not in uniform.

 

     On Team Composition:

 

     2.2   Line up: 13 players; 13 to play

 

     2.3   Only two (2) officials listed in the gallery or line-up will be allowed on the team bench.

 

     Sanctions:

 

     2.4   A player slapped with two (2) technical or unsportsmanlike fouls or a combination of both regardless of the gravity of the foul, shall be disqualified from that particular  game.

 

     2.5   Players slapped with two (2) unsportsmanlike fouls for an excessive foul shall be disqualified from the game plus a one (1) game suspension (during the next scheduled game).

 

     2.6   Players and Team Officials slapped with disqualifying foul (ejected from the court) shall have an automatic one (1) game suspension (during the next scheduled game).

 

     2.7   Repetition of items 2.5 and 2.6 will mean banning the said player(s) and/or official(s) from participating further in the tournament.

 

     Force Majeure:

 

     2.8   If it occurs during the first half of the game, the game will be played from the start. The game will be rescheduled.

 

     2.9   If it occurs during the second half onwards, all scores, fouls, team fouls, the time remaining, and time outs will be carried over when the game is rescheduled and only team members present in that particular game will be allowed to play.

 

    2.10   If it occurs during the last two minutes of the game, the team leading by 20 points or more will automatically win the game.

 

     Typhoon Signal: There will be no game when Typhoon signal no. 2 is declared.

 

     Note:  No team official, no game.  Team without any official present during the
               game will lose the game by forfeiture.
