Posted Wednesday, January 30, 2008
Pearl Mallada sank a
jumper in the final six seconds as St. Scholatica’s College
nipped Philippine Women’s University, 78-76, to retain the
basketball championship in the 6th Women's Colleges Sports
Association (WCSA) at the Assumption College gym over the
weekend.
La Consolacion College
Manila foiled a double celebration for the SSC Scions when
the Blue Royals nailed the volleyball crown via a
hard-earned 21-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-11, 15-7 victory.
Deposed champion and host
Assumption settled for second runner-up honors after
stopping Miriam College, 25-18, 25-22, 25-23.

Most Valuble Player, finished with 19 points behind Shalimar
Roxas who tossed a team-high 20 markers, including three
triples in the first quarter.
PWU’s Shynel Villedo led
all scorers with 33 points.
The league resumes on
Feb. 9-10 with the badminton and swimming contests. Table
tennis and futsal get its turn on Feb. 17 and 24. The
