by Veronica Paige Eala, 4th Year Batch Representative
The participants of the logo making contest It has been an annual tradition for 1st and 4th year students to experience an integration in the first few weeks of the school year. This school year, it was called ‘Kapatiran,’ a Filipino word for sisterhood. It is intended that both batches should treat each other as sisters, hence the name ‘Kapatiran.’ Through this activity, fourth year students welcome the freshmen in the High School community. The activity was held for two days, June 13 at the Sr. Kuniberta Hall and June 20 at the field. Throughout the activity, Scholastican Ambassadors helped to organize the events. The two-day ‘Kapatiran’ was packed with various activities to initiate and forge the bond between years 1 and 4 students. There were Mission Impossible: Save Mother Earth Race, team logo making, team cheer making and lots of fun games to achieve the objective of integration between the two levels. The winners for the Mission Impossible Race and Team Logo was Team 4-Stewardship and I-Silence; for Team Cheer, Team 4-Commitment and I-Obedience, and for the games, Team 4-Honesty and 1-Humility. As a culmination of the ‘Kapatiran,’ the seniors were asked to go to their partners’ HR classrooms for the exchange of letters and gifts. The integration fostered camaraderie among fourth year students and made their ‘little sisters’ more comfortable with the new community. All in all, the ‘Kapatiran’ was a success. It accomplished all of its objectives through interaction and activities and most importantly it created the bond between the two year levels that would hopefully thrive and be further strengthened throughout the school year.
