By Jessica Mae P. Manansala, Club
Coordinating Chairperson
June 20, 2008, St. Cecilia’s Hall. Freshmen students and newcomers were all gathered for the annual Club Orientation. This annual orientation serves as a venue for the different clubs and organizations of the unit to introduce their respective clubs to the new members of the community and at the same time recruit new members. The event was graced by the unit’s thirty-three (33) clubs that were divided into seven (7) groups: Spiritual Formation Clubs, Performing Arts Clubs, Sports Clubs, Academics Clubs, Service Clubs, Literary/Communication Clubs and the Special Interest Clubs. The orientation commenced with a movie clip prepared by the Information Technology Society showing a glimpse of the nature and activities of each club. It was then followed by the various presentations of the clubs’ objectives and activities with the end goal of encouraging new students to audition for their club.
Surely, the Club Orientation has provided freshmen and newcomers sufficient information to choose and decide as to what will best nourish their skills and talents as they grow holistically to be agents of social transformation. |
