The IBYC was held on July 10-13 at the Collaroy Centre where the theme was “Dadiri”, which meant deep listening.  They were joined by other Benedictine school from Africa, London, Chile, United States, Germany and Australia.  The students were given the opportunity to choose the workshops they would be attending so as to be able to interact with the other students.  This gave them the chance to learn more about the different cultures of the delegates.  The schedule was quite tight that everyone must attend the mass or morning prayer at 6:30 a.m. and end the day with prayer at 10:00 p.m.

During the closing ceremonies, the majority of the schools presented either a cultural performance or a video about their school.  The ABS delegation showed a very good performance showcasing the different cultural dances from Mindanao and Luzon.

On July 14, 2008, the majority of the participants of the IBYC trooped to St. Scholastica’s College, Glebe.  This was the home of all the students and teachers while attending the World Youth Day.
