On June 1-3, 2009, St. Scholastica's College, Manila, in coordination with the Institute of Women's Studies (IWS), sponsored a Gender-Sensitivity Training for its selected female faculty members held at the Women's Ecology Wholeness Farm in Mendez, Cavite

Prof. Rebecca Marquez, Chairperson of the Department of Women Studies, stated that this training is conducted regularly and aims to equip the different members of the community with gender-sensitivity awareness.  Prof. Marquez and Prof. Archie Ligo facilitated the three (3)–day event.  The participants engaged in enlightening and fun-filled activities that truly captured their gender-sensitivity consciousness.   The faculty members were expected to later on integrate in their classes the knowledge gained from this training.  Some of the topics highlighted in the event covered the factors contributing to gender stereotypes, sexual harassment, etc.
