students continue to achieve recognition outside
Once again, works by students from the
Mass Communication Department of St. Scholastica’s College
Manila were recognized in the 8th DLSU Indie-UN Film Festival
held last March 19, 2011 at the SM Mall of Asia, Cinema 1. The DLSU Indie-UN Film Festival is an
annual digital video competition which showcases the works of
student artists and filmmakers. The festival has four
categories namely: feature film, experimental film, music video
and documentary. Kwento

surrounding the issue of internal displacement in Mindanao DLSU 8th Indie UN-Film Competition: People's Choice Award

universities in the country participated in the different
categories of the competition. Among the five finalists
that made it in the documentary category were two entries by the
Mass Comm students of St. Scho. Aktibista by Karen Camille Gutierrez is a
documentary that narrates the experiences of a Filipino activist
during the Arroyo regime.

and Celine Pagobo is a thesis video production that talks about
the controversies behind the issue of internal displacement in
Mindanao. Kwento sa Likod ng Bakwit won the Maner
Award or the People’s Choice Award in the said video
competition. |
