SSC teaches in OLAS this Summer 2012

Teaching for SSC is a calling that goes beyond the boundaries of the community.

The faculty members of the Education Department of the SSC College Unit taught in Our Lady of the Angels Seminary (OLAS) College in Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City, this summer from April 16-27, 2012.  This program of SSC-Manila and OLAS is already on its second (2nd) year. 

Father Reu Jose Galoy, OFM, President of OLAS, welcomed the batch of twenty (20) AB Theology Major in Religious Studies students who enrolled in the 6-unit cognate courses on Education offered by SSC-Manila.  This group was comprised of 2nd to 4th year students as follows: three (3) incoming 2nd year, fourteen (14) incoming 3rd year and three (3) incoming 4th year. Ages of the students ranged from 17 to 32 years old. They are scholars in their respective parishes and dioceses in Fairview, Caloocan, Tandang Sora and Novaliches. They are also currently engaged in catechetical ministry in their respective parishes and are aiming to receive an education degree in the next few years.   This dynamic group manifested their active class involvement through their energetic, high-spirited and lively participation in their classes. 

Prof. Mary Joy Rosales-Orante, shared faculty of Social Sciences and Education Departments, taught Social Dimensions of Education from April 16-20 while Prof. Froilyn Lunaria of the Education Department handled Facilitating Learning from April 23-27.

The experience was memorable and fun-filled for both the faculty members and the students.
