SSC Partners with PAL for Outreach

Sr. Mary Thomas Prado, OSB, School President; Sr. Celine Saplala, OSB, Social Action Director; and Ms. Cecilia Almazar, Marketing and Communications Head paid a visit to Philippine Airlines Flight Operations Office on May 23, 2012 and were received by Ms. Lilybeth Tan-Ng, Assistant Vice-President for Flight Operations.  The purpose of the meeting was to formally thank Philippine Airlines for transporting SSC’s relief goods for the typhoon victims of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan and the earthquake victims of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental  (flown via Cebu).  The goods weighed 1,073 kilos and were flown on January 9 and March 15, 2012.  Most. Rev. Elenito Galido, DD, Bishop of Iligan and Fr. Gilbert Bagaloyos, OFM  and community took charge of distributing them in Iligan and Guihulngan.

Ms. Tan-Ng is a Scholastican who graduated in 1996 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM), Cum Laude.  After a short stint in the hotel industry, she was sent by her father, Lucio Tan, to aviation school where she trained as a pilot.  She looks after the flight operations of PAL and at the same time flies the PAL Airbus 320.
