Dean Ramon R. Mañalac Attends Convention and Joins Board of Directors of the COUNCIL OF MANAGEMENT EDUCATORS AND PRACTITIONERS IN THE PHILIPPINES (COMEPP)

Dean Ramon R. Mañalac of the School of Business recently attended the 21st National Convention in Iloilo City of the Council of Management Educators and Practitioners in the Philippines (COMEPP) last July 28-29, 2011 with the theme "Nurturing Leadership Through Quality Management Education and Practice". The two-day convention was attended by at least 300 participants from various parts of the country comprising of deans, program department heads, faculty, and students representing the academe and private industries practitioners.

The event was honored by the welcome address of CHED Region VI Director Dr. Virginia P. Resurreccion and keynote speech of CHED Commissioner Dr. Nona S. Ricafort. Both guests commended the noble vision-mission of the COMEPP in promoting and enhancing the learning and practice of management in the country.

The entire convention was divided into four (4) technical sections handled respectively by resource speakers and discussants. The 1St technical session dealt with "The Role of the 21st Century Management Leaders and Professionals: Opportunities and Challenges" with the PHINMA Education Network President Dr. Melito B. Salazar, Jr. as the resource person.

In the 2nd technical session Mr. Engelbert Camasura, Director of ZMG Ward Howell talked about "Finding, Recruiting and Developing Management Leaders and Practitioners".
Dr. Ramon Ricardo A. Roque, and Deputy Secretary General, House of Representatives and Dean of San Beda Graduate School spoke of "Developing the New Breed of Management Leaders and Professionals: The Student Perspectives" in the 3rd technical session.

The 4th technical session focused on "Quality Management Standards for Business Education Courses: Aspirations for International Accreditation" courtesy of Mr. Rey Anthony N. Napay, Country Representative, ABS Quality Evaluations. Dean Mañalac was the discussant in this technical session.

Capping the 2-day convention was the election of five (5) members of the Board of Directors. Elected to the Board of Directors were:
