| SSC holds IFDS-day 2 St. Scholastica's College, Manila (SSC) conducted talks on Educational Technology and Therapeutic Education during the second day of the Institutional Faculty Development Seminars. The talks were sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and held on May 25, 2012 at the Kuniberta Hall with the participation of the faculty members of each unit. Dr. Nenita Habulan, a faculty member of De La Salle University, gave the first talk on The Pedagogy in Technology. In her talk, she emphasized the optimization of technology for improved instruction and highlighted the principles of blended learning which is the combination of virtual and physical environment for teaching and learning. Dr. Habulan also suggested that SSC conduct a "tech planning" that can serve as its roadmap. The second talk was given by Dr. Ma. Cecilia Licuan who is also a faculty member of De La Salle University. She talked about Therapeutic Education which underscored meeting the needs of the 21st century adolescents. Besides discussing education as a therapeutic tool, Dr. Licuan also discussed the learning process in a behavioral context and in a non-conventional perspective. The resource speakers were awarded certificates of appreciation after each talk headed by Sr. Adela Arabia, OSB, Principal of the High School Unit, and Sr. Edna Quiambao, OSB, Principal of the Grade School Unit. |
