SSC Personnel Undergo Life Support Training

A two-day Basic Life Support Seminar attended by 27 members from the administration, faculty, office and general services personnel, and the school security staff was held last May 22 and 23, 2012 at the Caridad Barrion Hall.

The training, organized by the clinic through Dr. Madelaine Buraga, and the Safety and Security Office through Ms. Vivian Manila, was in line with the school’s objective of training school personnel who can immediately and ably respond in case of natural and Human-made emergencies.

The training covered topics on adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation for lay rescuers and basic first aid for office employees. The attendees went through lectures and demonstrations conducted by instructors, Ms. Dorothy Ann S. Salada and Mr. Christian G. Beltran, both of whom are nurses and active members of the Philippine Red Cross – Pasay City Chapter. There were also written and practical tests.

Hopefully, trainings such as these become available to more members of the Scholastican community, considering the many crises, disasters and emergencies that have become common in these times.
