A General Overview

In December 1991, a group of Scholastican parents organized what remains known today as St. Scholastica's College,Manila - College Parents Association, Inc. (SSC-CPA).  It is a non-stock corporation duly registered with Securities and Exchange Commission on December 23, 1991 per SEC Registration No. AN091-199505. 

The Association was formed for the following purposes:

1.   To develop cooperation between and among the parents, school administrators, faculty and guidance counselors in such undertakings that will secure for every student the maximum physical, intellectual, moral and spiritual development.

2.   To encourage the active participation of parents in the education and formation of  critically conscious and socially responsive college students of St. Scholastica's College,  Manila.

3.   To foster understanding, unity and fellowship among the members.

4.   To provide an effective channel of communication between and among parents, school administrators, teachers and guidance counselors in order to ensure the efficient and effective attainment of the educational goals of the school.

5.   To safeguard the rights and interest of the members of the Association and the association as a whole.

Under the sixth of the Articles of Incorporation, the number of trustees of the Association shall be fifteen (15) and thus, the 15 incorporators comprised the first Board of Trustees.  The annual meeting of the members is being held on first Saturday of August of each school year. Under Article III Section 1, the officers of the Association shall be:  1) President;  2) Vice-President; 3) Secretary; 4) Treasurer; 5) Auditor.  They shall be elected by the Board of Trustees among themselves.

Section 2 provides: All officers of the Association shall hold office for one (1) year and until their successors are duly elected and qualified.

The efforts of our predecessors have yielded a charter under which the Association can exist for 50 years and for this alone, the College Parents Association would like to acknowledge with special thanks the organizers/incorporators, namely:
