Grade School holds Rigodon de Honor
by Ms. Adelaida Villegas, Grade School Principal

"Shall we dance?" - Fathers and daughters getting ready to dance the night away

"Almost a lady" - The Sixth Graders parading in their best formal attire

On January 14, the father-daughter Rigodon de Honor highlighted the Sixth Graders Personality Development Program. The two-week graded module on the development of social behavior and social interaction culminated with a sit-down dinner followed by the Rigodon de Honor, the father-daughter cotillion, and the class waltz under the stars and the full moon. The field was transformed into a beautiful garden party for the Sixth Graders, their parents and their teachers. It was a sight to behold to see fathers dancing with their young girls dressed in their best formal attire, to hear our young girls conversing in light and soft tones, and to see parents, sisters and teachers awed by the overnight transformation of these young ladies. This year's Rigodon de Honor has become a progressive and contemporary program for the social and cultural education of our young girls. This event would not have been possible without the untiring support of the parents, especially, the Rigodon Committee, headed by Mrs. Jennie Hiceta and the Grade School Parents Association (GSPA) Board Chairperson Mrs. Vicky Dayao. n
