Best Thesis award for Plan A went to Ms. Claudine Torres and Ms. Patricia Mae Tan for their thesis “Deaf-ying the Business World”

The Mass Communications Department and Communication Society joined hands in producing Obra Kulasa 2006 with the College Week theme, “One Hundred Years and Growing” last February 20-23, 2006 at the Sr. Baptista Battig Hall. 

The weeklong presentation of the Mass Communication students’ theses opened with the production of Group A with the theme “100% Kulasa.”  On the second day, Group B presented “In Control: Zap to Social Responsibility through the Power of Media.”  On its last day, Group C presented “Sa Pagliliyab ng Libong Sulo” and Group D, the winner of the Best Theses Group Presentation, showed “Legacy: Continuing Change for Tomorrow.”

A closing program was held on March 8, 2006 at the Maryville Study Hall.  The Best Thesis award for Plan A went to Ms. Claudine Torres and Ms. Patricia Mae Tan for their thesis “Deaf-ying the Business World.”  The same award was conferred to Ms. Myca Soria, Ms. Margarita Manabat, Ms. Katrine Joy Panong and Ms. Jenny Rosebelle Reyes for their Plan B production entitled “Undersiege”, which is all about the Philippine Press under the Estrada administration. Ms. Rachelle Siazon was awarded “Senior of the Year.”  Mass Communication Department faculty members donated gifts to be given away to senior students. 

As a closing activity and in celebration of ComSoc’s 20th Anniversary, the organization members paid tribute to their senior schoolmates by awarding the Ten Outstanding Officers and giving a recognition award to their Moderator, Ms. Sherryl Lou Capili, for her selfless contribution to the organization. n
