The Re-orientation
for the second to fourth/fifth year students was held last June
21-22, 2005 at the St. Cecilia’s Hall. This half-day event for
each year level was a success since it was very well attended by
the students and it served its purpose. Through this activity,
the students were able to grasp the very essence of the school’s
theme for this school year, “100 Years of Scholastican
Education: Excellence as our
Benedictine Service to the Community” which was delivered by
no less than Sr. Angelica |

Leviste, OSB, the
school president. Also, the college officials were introduced to the students. In
addition, everyone was given a brief but exciting talk on SSC’s
Centennial Celebration this year by Ms. Lucris Paraan, chair of
the centennial committee who gave an
overview of what is in store for the
Scholasticans in their school’s celebration of its 100th
year. |
The second part of the
program was the presentation of office policies and
non-academic programs. Several offices were
presented including the Registrar’s Office, the Social Action
Center, Benedictine Volunteer’s Program and finally, the Student
Affairs Office. The new set of Student Council Officers for SY
2005-2006, was also introduced. Ms. Joy Guillermo, the SC president
gave a short speech on the council’s plans for this school year.
The presentations were very
informative and relevant. It kept the students abreast with the
changes and developments of each office.
Music students performed
their versions of today’s popular songs as intermission numbers.
Also, the audio-visual presentations of the six new academic and
non-academic organizations updated the students.
In sum, the Re-orientation became the ideal event
to welcome the students to this exciting school year!
The Re-orientation is
annually spearheaded by the Student Affairs Office in coordination
with the Student Council.
