The Student Council (SC), together with the Student Affairs Office (SAO), held the Council of Representatives’ (CORE) Leadership Formation and Teambuilding Workshop last September 3-4, 2005 at Sitio Lucia, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.  This year’s theme was “Benedictine Leadership: Relevant and Responsive.”  In line with the objective of the assembly, the seminar commenced with the talk of Ms. Malou Mangahas, former chair of the UP Supreme Student Council,

past editor-in-chief of the Collegian and present consultant of GMA 7 News and Public Affairs, on the National Situation specifically the political crisis beleaguering the presidency.  The talk was followed by a workshop on Basic Leadership Skills and Team-building, which was facilitated by former SC President Valerie Cruz of the Active Catalysts of Tomorrow (ACT).  The ACT is composed of alumni of the Ayala Young Leaders Congress.  The seminar concluded with a thematic address of the Dean of Student Affairs Mrs. Rhodora Ferrer and planning sessions of the different batch councils facilitated by the batch representatives.

The team-building workshop was fun and inspiring for the Scholastican Class Representatives.  It also served as a venue for them to get-to-know each other and learn ways of becoming effective student leaders.  The whole activity truly enriched the participants’ knowledge and skills on leadership. n
