The College Campus Ministry Office held another Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS) for the second group of third year college students:  302 A, B, and C, BM3 A and B, MIS3 A and B.  A total of one hundred ninety-three (193) students completed the two-day retreat-seminar held at Sr. Kuniberta Strathmann Hall last September 18-19, 2004.   The first group had their LSS last August 28-29, 2004 with one hundred eighty-six (186) participants from 301A and B, 3BSA, 3HCA, BSTM3 A and B, Music 3, FM3 A and B, BSBio3 and Ent 3.

The Life in the Spirit Seminar is composed of a series of talks leading the students through the basic message of salvation and helps them yield to the action of the Holy Spirit in their lives.  The seminar is simple, informal and introductory in format, balanced with teaching, personal testimony, Scripture and prayer. There are small group discussions that provide an important opportunity for the participants to discuss and share their experience.

The LSS was facilitated by a group of persons who belong to different renewal communities and prayer groups in Metro Manila led by their shepherd Mr. Arun Gogna, a Theology professor from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, who has been ministering to the youth for many years.

      The last group of third year college students (316 A and B, AB Pol3, AB Eng3, BFA SPD3, BFA3, BSID3, Eco3, BS Math3, MM3 A and B, BSE3 and BSND3) will have their LSS on February 19-20, 2004.

The LSS has been part of the recollection and retreat program of the College Campus Ministry since last school year.  All third year college students of SY 2003-2004 experienced the power of the Holy Spirit through the LSS and many of them have expressed how wonderful it is to experience God’s presence through the Holy Spirit.  With this experience, they hope that The Holy Spirit would empower them with the gifts they need to become effective witnesses of Christ.

Students sharing life experiences
As a follow up to the LSS, the College Campus Ministry Office (CCMO) is planning to organize a prayer meeting in October for all the LSS graduates.  This activity will also be open to the other members of the community who would like to join the group in worshipping and praising God.  Small prayer groups will also be organized by the second semester where students can have Bible Study and faith sharing sessions.

CCMO is currently in need of students who have had their LSS to help in organizing similar future activities.  Interested student volunteers can visit the CCMO.  Let this be an opportunity for you to share the gifts you have received from the Holy Spirit so that we can truly say that in all things God may be glorified. n
